Dear Kelli: I seem to be having trouble figuring out something to do with my hair. Occasionally I do straighten my hair to do something different – is this a bad thing to do?
I am natural and have been for a little more than 2 years and I am doing conditioner washes to help with maintenance.
Kelli: Embracing your natural hair can become challenging when you are at that point of “ugh…what do I do with it now stage”. You have come this far, so it’s time to fall in love with your hair again!
Experiment with new styles (even ones that you think wouldn’t look that great on you, try it) try scalp twists, or give your hair a break and try braids for the summer (not too tight).
If you choose to straightening your hair, try not to do it too often.
Remember to try to keep your products with all natural ingredients because that makes a big difference especially when it comes to moisturizing.
