I decided to stop wearing the braids/wigs in February 2001. It took the next two months to get used to the new me. I would attempt to wear my hair, but to me it never looked right and I usually ended up putting a wig on. I never had hair that short at the time, I haven't dealt with my real hair for a little over one year. However I tried to keep positive and knew things would get better...eventually. :)
