Scrunching

Items needed: A towel (I use an Aquis Microfiber Towel because it hold much more water in the towel compared to traditional towels.)

Scrunching is a technique some curlies may use to make their hair curlier. I personally like to towel-scrunching to make my hair dry faster and keeps my hair in place. I use an Aquis Microfiber Towel. If I need my hair to dry even faster, I would use my hand dryer or diffuser for about 10 mins.

Scrunching is a technique some curlies use to make their hair curlier. I personally like to towel-scrunching to make my hair dry faster. If I need my hair to dry even faster, I would use my hand dryer or diffuser for about 10 mins.

Instructions:

Step 1: Apply your product(s) to soaking wet hair.

Step 2: Take your towel, place in your hand and gently squeeze the ends with the towel. Start at the ends and scrunch towards the scalp. I usually scrunch in about 8 sections of my hair - 4 sections on each side.

Step 3: Bend over slightly to make it easier to grasp the hair.

Step 4: Let air dry and DO NOT TOUCH YOUR HAIR WHILE IT IS DRYING!

Tips:

• You may not want to use thick gels while scrunching. In my experience they tend to make the curls 'stick together' and make the hair look bad after it dries. Liquidity gels such as Sebastian Wet or liquidity products such as Paul Mitchell Foaming Pomade seems to work best for me for scrunching.

• You can also use an old t-shirt or a paper towel to blot the hair.

• The trick is not to rub or scrub the hair, but to squeeze the water out.
