Ponytails and Buns

Items
needed: A ponytail holder and styling product(s).
|
Instructions for Ponytails:
Step
1: Wet your hair.
Step
2: Apply a little gel or a leave-in.
Step
3: Lightly brush towards the base
of your head and use a cloth ponytail holder to hold it back.
Step
4: Take a scarf and place around
the hairline to keep the hair closer to the scalp. (If I skipped this
step, it'll look like I have a big hammerhead - lol)
and you have a ponytail.
Tips
- Be
careful when buying your ponytail holders. Make sure they are elastic
all the way around and free from metal parts. Don't wear this style
too much and don't wear it too tight. All of these issues may break
your hair off and we don't want that! :)
- At
night I always make sure to take it down and put a stocking cap
on my head. If I'm not doing a conditioner wash, I just spray some
water, put a little bit of moisturizer on it, brush back a little,
and put it into another ponytail.
Instructions for Buns
Step
1: Put the hair into a ponytail
the the directions above.
Step
2: Then put one braid in to stretch
the hair for a fuller bun.
Step
3: After the braid dries, unravel
and gently fingercomb.
Step
4: Fold (or roll) the hair under
once or twice (once for a bigger bun, twice for a smaller bun) with
two bobby pins and you have a bun!
Another
way to make a bun is to make a "sock bun"
Step
1: Use one clean sock and cut the
toe part off the toe.
Step
2: Roll the sock into a shape of
a doughnut.
Step
3: Put your hair into a ponytail.
Step
4: Pull the ponytail through the
hole of the doughnut sock. It should be located at the top of the ponytail.
Step
5: Then take sections of the ponytail
and split it in all directions so that your hair covers the entire doughnut
sock and tuck and pin it under with bobby pins.
