Straightening Natural Hair

Bookmark and Share

Q: I seem to be having trouble figuring out something to do with my hair. I have been natural for 2 years. I do straighten my hair occasionally to do something different - is this a bad thing to do?

A: Thank you for your interest. Straightening your hair is not bad if done correctly, not too frequent and done on chemical - free hair.  I suggest using a ceramic iron for temporarily straightening natural hair textures.  I cannot endorse any particular brand of ceramic iron but you want to invest in a quality ceramic iron.  Check around before purchasing.  A good non-professional ceramic iron can run as low as $27.00 - $75.00.

Thanks,
