A: I’m from Georgia and the natural scene is absolutely thriving here, especially in Atlanta.
A: This is my second time being natural (I wore locs during college). I did my big chop on September 4, 2010 after a 3 month transition. I found the whole process to be a very liberating experience, beginning with cutting off my my relaxed ends and then I was able to achieve my goal of sporting my natural hair texture.
A. My husband is my biggest supporter. He is constantly complimenting me on how healthy and beautiful my hair is and I am very thankful for his support!
A: I love the fact that I can care for and style my own hair now. When I had a relaxer I depended on my hairstylist to maintain my hair. The styles I wore were very limited and mostly consisted of wraps and rollersets. Now, I change my hairstyle every couple of days so I am loving the versatility.
A: In the beginning, I didn’t know what to do with my TWA. I couldn’t define my curls no matter how much product I put in it, so I ended up wearing a lot of headbands to try to make it look pretty. It wasn’t until I had about 3 inches of hair that I started to feel comfortable with my fro.
A: I wash my hair once a week with an organic shampoo (Shea Moisture). I detangle and deep condition with Suave Naturals. I style my hair using Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner. I spritz my hair daily with a mixture of the following products: Cantu Leave-In, Carrot, Olive and Tea Tree oil.
A: Going natural is a very personal decision. It takes a lot of work and dedication, so do your research, have a plan, find inspiration and go for it!
A: My natural hair makes me feel beautiful!
