How long did you transition and how long have you been natural?
I transitioned for only four months, after that I got fed up with my relaxed hair and cut it all off and became natural April 12, 2005 is my natural hair birthday.
How you feel about your natural hair in the beginning?
I felt lost, that’s why I went searching for natural websites like MotownGirl.com. I wanted to see that I was not alone , it made me feel good to see that other natural sisters were in the same shoes as I am in.
How much support did you receive when you decided to go natural?
I got very little support becoming natural, my friends thought that I was crazy. the only support I receive was from my husband. To tell a fact he is the one that encourage me to go natural, he said that I should love myself and the way God made me.
Has there been any differences in your life from going natural?
There has been a huge change in my life since I became natural, I learned to love me for me, I feel more free and comfortable. I also am a walking testimony to other black sisters, they are amaze that I went natural yeah me “Miss hair diva” who like her hair straight and bounce all the time lol. Many of my friends are converting to naturalness because my hair length already has past theirs. plus they see how confidence I am with myself and my husband.
What has been the best thing about being natural?
The best thing about being natural is not running to the relaxer box every two months are so. I don’t have to worry about getting caught in the rain or even having fun in water. Just the other day, I went to a water park and had the best time of my life, I didn’t have to worry about ruining my relaxer or anything I just shook that water off of my head and created a shake and go lol. then I went home and washed it, that’s it. I am so free.
How do you take care of and maintain your hair?
Well, I wash my hair every two weeks with Pantene Pro-V shampoo and I condition as well. then I towel dry and add Fantasia IC hair polisher (OLIVE) to my hair, it makes it easy to come and add shine as well. After that I twist my hair with Ratsa jamaican mango and lime products (roller set/ crimps and crinkles) I love twist outs that is why I follow this method. this also keeps my hair from tingling even if I wanted to wear a afro the next day.
If you were stranded on a deserted island and had to choose 3 things for your hair, what are three things you would have to have for your hair and why?
I would choose my Pantene shampoo and condition, Carols Daughter Hair Milk and my IC Hair Polisher.
What advice would you give someone who was thinking of going natural?
Don’t think about it, If you want an extra boost, go to different Fotki.com pages and check other natural sistahs photos out. You are making steps just by coming to MotownGirl’s website.

Any Final Words?
